For Congregate Settings

Congregate settings refer to a range of facilities where people (most of whom are not related) live or stay overnight and use shared spaces like sleeping areas, kitchens and bathrooms.

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health works with congregate settings such as long-term care homes, retirement homes and other facilities (i.e., shelters, group homes) to manage outbreaks and support infection control standards to prevent the spread of illness.

In addition to this work, the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph IPAC Hub provides education, training and support for congregate settings. Contact congregatesetting@wdgpublichealth.ca if you have any questions or to request a service.
