Personal Service Settings E-Learning Course

The Personal Service Settings (PSS) online course is recommended for owners/operators and staff of settings like salons and spas, tattoo and piercing studios, aesthetics providers and places that offer manicures/pedicures. Personal service providers need to learn about infection control to keep both clients and staff healthy and reduce the chances of spreading infections or diseases.

The PSS course is free to take and is currently available in English.

About the course

The Infection Prevention and Control Course for Personal Service Settings covers topics such as:

  • Requirements in O.Reg 136/18: Personal Service Settings
  • Role of a public health inspector
  • Common infections in personal services
  • How to protect yourself and your clients from infection
  • Hand hygiene
  • Cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of tools and equipment
  • Record keeping

Upon completion, you will receive an electronic certificate with your name that lists the modules you completed that you can print and save for your records.

Please note that all participants must complete Modules 1-4. Modules 5-10 are optional depending on the services you provide.

  • Module 10: Tattoo and Micropigmentation

  • If this is your first e-learning course with us, create a username and password. Returning users can log in.
  • Select the “Personal Service Settings” course to begin
