At Public Health we are committed to meeting the needs of everyone in our community. We strive to reduce and remove barriers to ensure Public Health is accessible to everyone. You are welcome use personal assistive devices, service animals, support person(s) and communication, cognition, mobility and medical aids to access our communications, programs and services.
Accessibility Policies
Our policies and procedures are intended to meet the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), 2005 and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR). As a non-profit employer in the “50+ employee” category, we have developed a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan to ensure we comply with the AODA. The Plan describes how we have become an accessible organization and how we will continue to do so through 2025.

Accessible Formats
To request an alternate format or for communication supports, you can email access@wdgpublichealth.ca, call 1-800-265-7293 ext 7006 or complete the Accessible Format Request for Information and Communication Supports form.
WDG Public Health is committed to meeting the communication needs of people with disabilities. When asked, information and communication materials will be provided in accessible formats or with communication supports, in a timely manner. This may include formats such as:
- electronic formats such as HTML and MS Word
- Braille
- accessible audio formats
- large print
- text transcripts of visual and audio information
- reading the written information aloud to the person directly
- exchanging hand-written notes (or providing a note taker or communication assistant)
- captioning or audio description
- assistive listening systems
- augmentative and alternative communication methods and strategies such as the use of letter, word or picture boards, and devices that speak out messages
- sign language interpretation and intervenor services
- repeating, clarifying, or restating information
WDGPH will consult with people with disabilities to determine their information and communication needs.
