Join the conversation: Understanding local experiences and perceptions of alcohol starts with you

Have you noticed alcohol popping up in the news more lately? There’s been a lot of talk about where you can buy alcohol in Ontario, new research on its health effects, and how the pandemic has changed our drinking habits. With all these shifts, it’s more important than ever to understand how these changes are affecting you and your community.

That’s where you come in! Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph (WDG) Public Health is running a quick, anonymous, online survey to get a better idea of how our community feels about alcohol, its impacts and local drinking behaviours. Your feedback can help shape future health initiatives – what a great way to get involved!

Whether you drink alcohol or not, we want to hear from you. If you’re 16 or older and live in Wellington County, Dufferin County or the City of Guelph, you are invited to take part. By participating, you can enter for a chance to win one of three $100 gift cards. Just complete the survey and enter the contest. Your survey answers and contest entry are separate, so your responses won’t be linked to you in any way.

Why Your Input Matters

Alcohol use impacts many areas of our community, from personal health to social dynamics. By sharing your thoughts, you’re helping us create a healthier and more informed community. Plus, it’s a great way to make sure our public health strategies reflect the needs and preferences of the communities we serve.

Here’s how your responses will help us:

  • Understand Trends: Get a clearer picture of alcohol use and attitudes in our community.
  • Identify Needs: Find out where support and resources are needed most.
  • Develop Programs: Create initiatives that address local issues, build knowledge and awareness, and promote informed choices.

How to Participate

  1. Take the Survey: Share your thoughts and experiences with us.
  2. Enter the Contest: At the end of the survey, you can choose to enter the $100 gift card draw.
