On August 31, 2023 WDG Public Health and community partners are recognizing International Overdose Awareness Day and Drug Poisoning Awareness to remember those lost to overdose, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths and to prevent the incidences and impacts of overdose.

Wellington Guelph Drug Strategy Drug Poisoning Awareness Day
Thursday, August 24 12–1 p.m. in Mount Forest at Main & King St.
Thursday, August 31 in Guelph:
- 11:30–11:50 a.m.: Meet outside City Hall to advocate for drug policy reform
- 11:50–12 p.m.: Walk to Royal Bank Plaza outside of Capistrano’s
- 12–1 p.m.: Gather in the Royal Bank Plaza for speakers, a die-in and moment of silence, followed by pizza and music.
Dufferin-Caledon Drug Strategy Overdose Awareness Day
Thursday, August 31 4–7 p.m. at Dufferin County Paramedic Service, 325 Blind Line, Orangeville
