Prenatal Series

The in-person series consists of three evening sessions, led by a Registered Nurse, that provide participants with information and strategies to help prepare for labour & birth, breastfeeding, and early parenting. Other topics such as informed-decision making and community supports will be covered. You will also have a chance to ask questions, participate in activities, and meet other parents-to-be. A pregnancy booklet, a comfort measures toolkit, and other handouts will be given to you to take home.

By registering for the in-person series, you will also automatically receive access to our online prenatal program. We suggest using the online prenatal program before and during the in-person series so you can better understand the topics covered in the in-person series.

When should I take this program?

We recommend that you plan to attend the in-person sessions around the 7th or 8th month of pregnancy (28 to 32 weeks). You are able to register for any class in advance.  As soon as your registration is complete, you can start accessing the online program to get important pregnancy information (even if the in-person series you registered for doesn’t start right away).

How much is the in-person series?

The program is free. Registration is required.

How do I register?

  1. Choose a location (Guelph, Fergus, or Orangeville)
  2. Select a date that works best for you! (Sessions run Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.)
  3. Save the date and register using our online registration system, or call 1-800-265-7293 Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you are no longer able to come to the series you registered for, please cancel online or by calling 1-800-265-7293. This will open up a space for someone else who wants to attend our program.

In-person series may be cancelled if the registration numbers are too low. If the series you registered for is cancelled, you will be notified within 5 business days of the start of the first prenatal session. When a series needs to be cancelled, Public Health will work with you to suggest alternative dates and locations that may work within your schedule. If you have any questions regarding our cancellation policy please contact us at 1-800-265-7293.
