WDG Public Health and EarlyON have partnered to offer a FREE, in-person prenatal education series designed to help expectant parents and support partners feel confident and prepared for pregnancy, birth and the transition to parenting.

Session 1: Pregnancy, Labour and Birth

This session offers a general overview of pregnancy with a focus on preparing for the later stages:

  • Role of hormones in labour and delivery
Session 2: Informed Decision-Making and

This session focuses on confidence and support through the early stages of parenting:

  • Post-partum recovery
  • Maternal mental health
  • Informed decision-making during pregnancy and birth
Session 3: Breastfeeding and Preparing for Parenting

While the World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding exclusively for the first six months, WDG Public Health recognizes that every family’s experience is unique. This session covers:

  • Key principles
  • Common challenges
  • Practical tips for early parenting
Session 4: Newborn Care

This session covers newborn care basics:

  • Diapering, bathing, dressing and swaddling
  • Safe car seat use
  • Immunizations
  • Safe sleep principles
  • How to read and respond to your baby's cues
