Media Release: WDG Public Health encourages residents to book their fall flu and COVID-19 vaccines
September 28, 2026: Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph (WDG) Public Health is encouraging residents to get their flu and COVID-19 vaccines this fall to help protect themselves and others during respiratory illness season.
Vaccine appointments are now available through WDG Public Health for clinics beginning on October 13. Appointments can be booked online at wdgpublichealth.ca/appointments. Residents who need help booking an appointment or who want to book appointments for multiple family members can also call WDG Public Health at 1-800-265-7293.
“We prepare for fall and winter in all kinds of ways, and getting vaccinated should be part of that routine,” said Dr. Matthew Tenenbaum, Associate Medical Officer of Health, WDG Public Health. “Flu and COVID-19 vaccines help reduce the risk of serious illness and can help keep you healthier through the months when these viruses are circulating.”
Both flu and COVID-19 vaccines are available to everyone six months of age and older and can be safely received during the same visit. Flu and COVID-19 vaccines will also be available through participating pharmacies and primary care providers later in October.
Visit wdgpublichealth.ca for more information about flu and COVID-19.
