COVID-19 vaccine for 6 months to 5 years old

As of July 14, 2022, Health Canada has authorized the use of the Moderna Spikevax COVID-19 vaccine in children 6 months to 5 years of age.

Locally, vaccinations for children six months to five years will be administered by primary care providers and in select pharmacies (See participating pharmacies below). If you are unable to get a vaccine appointment or a spot on a waitlist through your child’s primary care provider or local pharmacy, please contact Public Health at 1-800-265-7293 ext. 7006, Monday- Friday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and we will assist you in finding a vaccine appointment for your child.

Please Note: Vaccine appointment booking at Public Health for children ages 6 months to 5 years will only be available over the phone, not through our online booking system.

Parents with questions are encouraged to:

  • speak with their health care provider,
  • call the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900, or
  • visit the COVID19 Vaccine Consult Service to book a phone appointment with a SickKids Registered Nurse: sickkids.ca/vaccineconsult
