Needle Exchange

Together with our community partners, we provide services to reduce harm to people who use drugs through our Stay Sharp program.

We offer free, confidential counselling, support and referrals to appropriate resources. Additionally we provide clean needle exchange (including sharps disposal kiosks), new needles, sterile water, alcohol swabs, filters, cookers, acidifiers, tourniquets, pipes, stems, pipe screens, latex condoms and lubricant at all of our office locations as well as the following locations within the community:

Naloxone

Naloxone is a drug that can reverse the effects of opioids and can help to prevent overdose. Recently, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has made Naloxone available over-the-counter at pharmacies.

Naloxone will be available for free when clients present their health card at pharmacies. Pharmacists will train clients to administer the Naloxone onsite. Individuals interested in Naloxone who do not have a health card are still encouraged to visit a pharmacy or to connect with Sanguen Health Centre to receive a kit.

Since this program is new to Ontario, many pharmacies are in the beginning stages of offering the Naloxone service. The pharmacies listed below are currently offering Naloxone or have indicated an intention to provide the service (but may not be set up yet). Please check back often as more pharmacies begin offering the service.
