POLICY STATEMENT

It is the policy of Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health to work co-operatively with all applicable agencies in reviewing or approving plans for all new and renovated food premises.

PROCEDURE

  1. Upon request from local building officials, the Public Health Inspector (PHI) will review and provide comments regarding plans for all new and renovated food premises.
  2. The PHI will review all proposals in accordance with the Ontario Food Premises Regulation 562.
  3. Any recommendations will be made on the submitted building plans and signed by PHI.
  4. All recommendations will be verified during the subsequent opening, licensing or approval inspection(s).
  5. The PHI will also provide advice on the design and floor plan of the food premises infrastructure to the owner prior to construction.
